OPTiM’s AI Physical Security Service to Undergo Testing at Japan Railway Stations

TOKYO, Japan (October 6, 2017) – OPTiM Corporation (TSE: 3694), a leading provider of IoT platform solutions, announces that its AI Physical Security Service is undergoing testing at Kyushu Railway Company※1 stations. Two stations, Wajiro Station on the Kashii Line, and Futajima Station on the Chikuho-Main Line, have had OPTiM’s AI Physical Security Service installed, and, from October 10, are performing trial experiments of the system. It is expected that this service will improve customer safety.

■About AI Physical Security Service

AI Physical Security Service is an AI-powered abnormal activity detection solution that runs on OPTiM Cloud IoT OS. AI monitors and analyzes the images captured by network cameras in real-time and automatically alerts designated staff when dangerous activity is detected. It is currently expected that this service will reduce workload of security staff by eliminating the need to constantly monitor camera feeds, while also increasing the accuracy of detecting problems, leading to increased security at the station.
